Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

PadelPush ("PadelPush", "we", "us") operates padelpush.co, a platform that helps padel players find partners, matches, and activities at clubs, including while traveling. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Questions or requests about your data: hello@padelpush.co.

2. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up (via our authentication provider, Clerk), we receive your name, email address, and profile photo.

Profile information you provide. To match you with suitable players and activities, you can share your gender, skill level and ratings (including ratings from third-party platforms such as Playtomic, if you link your username), preferred playing side and formats, availability, languages, bio, home city and country, and travel plans (where you are or will be playing).

Phone number and WhatsApp messages. If you add your phone number, we verify it via WhatsApp and use it to send you match suggestions, activity invitations, and confirmations. We process WhatsApp messages you send to our number, and messages posted in WhatsApp groups that our number has been invited to join (for example, club announcement groups), in order to detect padel activities and manage signups.

Activity and usage data.Your signups, match participation, partner preferences, feedback you give on matches and partners, messages you exchange with our AI concierge ("Paco"), referral activity, and how you use the site (pages visited, events, and campaign parameters such as UTM tags).

People you add. When you organise a match you can add other people you want to play with — your regulars, or a one-off guest — by name. We store that name so we can help you organise with them, but we do not ask you for, or store, their phone number, and we do not message them on your behalf: you send them the invitation link yourself, from your own phone.

If an organiser is given your number. Organisers do not normally see the phone number of anyone on their match: the WhatsApp button in the organiser tools opens their own contacts with the message written and no recipient chosen, so we never learn who they sent it to. There is one exception. We can give a named organiser — approved by us, one at a time, recorded, and revocable — the ability to open a WhatsApp chat directly with someone confirmed on their own match, so they can pass on the court details or ask for a share of the cost when our own messaging cannot reach you. They are never shown the number itself, only handed a chat that opens to it, and only for people on a match they are running. If you have told us to stop messaging you, we do not do this for you at all.

If someone invites you. An organiser can share an invitation or a group link with you without you having a PadelPush account. If you open it, you can tell us who you are and which times work for you, and — only if you choose — give your ownphone number so we can send you updates about that particular match. If you don’t, we keep no number for you. This is the only way a number for someone without an account reaches us: it always comes from the person themselves, never from whoever invited them.

Blocked-notification preferences. If you opt out of notifications (for example by replying STOP or SKIP on WhatsApp), we keep a record of that preference so we respect it.

Payment status for organiser-run matches.Some organisers use our feature to request each player’s share of a court via their own payment link. We record whether an organiser has marked your share as paid, unpaid, or waived, and when a request or reminder was sent. We do not collect or store your card, bank, or payment-account details — payment itself happens directly between you and the organiser, on the organiser’s own third-party payment link, outside PadelPush.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Suggest matches, partners, and club activities suited to your level, availability, and location;
  • Send you notifications and reminders (primarily via WhatsApp) about activities and match suggestions, including relevant conditions such as weather warnings;
  • Operate features such as partner searches, tournaments, leagues, group chats, sign-up sheets, cohorts, and referral rewards;
  • Track and remind you about your share of a match cost where an organiser has requested payment, described above;
  • Translate messages so players who speak different languages can play together;
  • Improve the product, measure usage, and keep the platform safe and free of abuse;
  • Respond to your questions and support requests.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. AI processing

Some features use AI models provided by Anthropic: our concierge chat (Paco), parsing of club announcements from WhatsApp groups, and message translation. Message content needed for these features is sent to the AI provider for processing. We do not permit our AI providers to use your data to train their models.

5. Who we share data with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run PadelPush:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management;
  • Maytapi — sending and receiving WhatsApp messages;
  • Anthropic — AI processing described above;
  • Vercel — hosting; Neon — database hosting;
  • Resend — sending the emails we send you (such as weekly digests and match notifications) and measuring whether they arrive and are engaged with;
  • Google Analytics — usage analytics;
  • PostHog (EU-hosted) — usage analytics and session recording.

We do not share your information with a payment processor, because we do not run one. When an organiser requests payment through PadelPush, the payment link or account details we display are the organiser’s own — belonging to whatever third-party provider they personally use (for example their own Stripe account, PayPal, or bank) — and paying through it is a transaction between you and the organiser, on that provider’s own systems, not ours.

Weather forecasts are retrieved from Open-Meteo using city-level coordinates only; no personal information is sent to it.

Some pages embed videos from YouTube (using its privacy-enhanced player, which does not set advertising cookies unless you play the video). Playing an embedded video is subject to YouTube's own terms and privacy policy.

Other players see the profile details relevant to matchmaking (such as your display name, photo, level, languages, and preferred side). When you join an activity or are matched with other players, they may see your name and, where needed to coordinate a game, your WhatsApp contact.

When you organise a match, the people you invite receive it from you: for many invitations and for group links we prepare the message and you send it from your own WhatsApp, so the recipient sees your number rather than ours. We only message an added contact directly once they have opted in to hear from us.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

6. Cookies and analytics

Two kinds of storage are strictly necessary and are always active: the sign-in session cookies set by our authentication provider Clerk (__session, __client_uat), which expire with your session, and a locale cookie that remembers your chosen language for one year.

Everything else is optional and is set only if you accept it in the cookie banner. That covers Google Analytics 4 (_ga and _ga_*, up to two years, used to measure how the site is used), PostHog (ph_*, up to one year, used to measure how the site is used and to record how pages are interacted with — text you type into forms is masked before it leaves your browser), and our own first-party measurement, which stores a random session identifier and any campaign/UTM parameters in your browser’s local storage for the duration of the visit. If you decline, none of it is loaded and no analytics identifier is created.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. Withdrawing consent removes the analytics cookies and identifiers already stored and stops any further collection.

Separately from cookies, the emails we send you include engagement measurement: links pass through our email provider (Resend) so we can see which emails were clicked, and we record delivery failures (bounces) and spam complaints. We use this to understand which emails are useful and to stop sending to addresses that no longer work. It involves no storage on your device; unsubscribing from an email list stops those emails entirely.

7. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we need to keep limited records to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or honor opt-out preferences.

If you opted in to updates about a match by giving your number on an invitation link, we keep that number only to send you those updates and to respect a later STOP; you can ask us to remove it at any time (see below).

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR if you are in the EU/EEA or UK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. If you have an account, you can download a copy of everything we hold about you and delete your account yourself, at any time, from the Your data section of your profile settings. You can also email hello@padelpush.co to exercise any of these rights. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

You can stop WhatsApp notifications at any time by replying STOP (all notifications) or SKIP (a specific activity) to our number. If you opted in to updates about a match without an account and want your number removed, reply STOP to any message from us or email hello@padelpush.co.

9. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

10. Children

PadelPush is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date; for material changes we will give you more prominent notice.
